my met duds.

So, last week, my mother and I decided to take a leisurely trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit. Yes, it was stunning, spectacular, shocking, and staggering, and all of those other striking 'S' adjectives, BUT we waited in line for two hours only to be crammed into small rooms with crowds of annoying people creaming in their pants over a designer they'd never even heard of until he was dead. That being said, the clothes were absolutely beautiful, despite the fact that I'm not even a huge McQueen fan.

I wish that I had been in the exhibit all by my lonesome to experience the crazy, spooky displays without someones hair on my arm every step of the way. And it was a Tuesday.. I suggest you go to see it before it goes bye-byes in a week. Lol, good luck.

..BUT I DIGRESS..

This is what I wore to the exhibit.

Although those beautiful, black, peep-toe, platform wedges are my partners in a not-so-secret love affair (wait until you see how much little they were), they were not meant to be worn for 8 hours at a time in New York City. Nevertheless, Mother and I had a splendid time strutting it up in the city's summer heat.
Let's get to the chase..

NECKLACE: $0
Pocket watch-turned necklace by my great aunt

SHIRT: $5.00
Cotton short-sleeved button-up from H&M (their sales are ace)

SKIRT: $0
Hand-picked straight from the 70's discarded garb of my mother's closet

SHOES<3: $15.00!
AHHHH! KJAHWE;ADSFALWKEJLOIR3U4! I KNOW, RIGHT?! Obsessed with these wedges I got for Fashion's Night Out last year from DAFFY'S in Herald Square, NYC.

GRAND TOTAL OF: $20.00

Well, that wasn't too bad, now was it? Twenty bucks for a kind of boho meets mod deal.
THANKS, DUDES AND DUDETTES.
Or no one, I mean that's cool, too.

Stay rich,
SKINFLINT
